I don’t have permission to share any recent session just yet so I’ll share my past weekend. Last Sunday the weather was amazing so we decided to dye eggs…outside. A good friend I hadn’t seen in a while paid us a vist and joined in the holiday festivities. It was a good time had by all. Here are some pictures of our day.
This little one likes to fish the eggs out of the dye with his fist. And he only wanted to use green so by the time he was done he had Hulk hands. Wait till you see how he washed them off.

I’m not sure what it is she is doing here. But I think it’s funny.

And how cute is she?!!?

And this is the dogs cage. See the bucket? That is Missy’s water. I think they had more fun with the dog water than they did dying eggs. Silly little munchkins.

If you are free Saturday March 14th we would like to borrow your face. Tori (the make up artist) and I are working on expanding her portfolio. And we are looking for volunteers to get a make over and a few shots taken. It will take about an hour out of your day. She is interested in making over men too. So bring the family. Or get a few girlfriends together, we will even take a few group shots. Call or email me to reserve your spot if you are interested.
Hey ladies,
Exciting news, I have a make up lady!! Woo Hoo!!! I will be meeting with her this week to iron out some details. So when you book your appointment let me know if you are interested in having a pro apply your make up.
Also we will be needing a few volunteers to have their make up done and get a few shots taken for portfolio purposes. You will need to sign a model release. I will post more details on this later. But feel free to let me know if you are interested.
Megan and I met the day we did these pictures. But I feel like I’ve known her for a long time. Before this shoot we knew so much about each other, we almost had nothing to talk about. You see Megan and I share something very special, a best friend. If you go back a few posts you will meet Shannon (or Mrs. C). For quite a while now Shannon has been telling me how much Megan and I need to meet, how much we would get along. We did hit it off. I can see her and I being good friends. And I think it is partly because she is my complete opposite. I’m not sure I could explain it. I’m not even going to try.
On with the pictures…

Look at those eyes!!

And these butterfly wings just fit her personality.

Then we got a little silly with her man’s jersey.

We had a lot of fun. And Megan if you read this, that party we talked about, it’s on as soon as it warms up.
I’ve been trying to talk my sister into one of these shoots for almost a year now. She kept fighting me, but I finally won (like I always do). And when the pictures were done, she was soooo glad she gave in. So I did a silly little dance and sang “I told you so I told you so nah nah nah nah nah nah”. On with the pictures…
In this one I told her to just stand there for a minute so I can test the lights. I usually delete those, but I liked this one.

This is one of her favorites.

Her and her guitar, I love using intruments as props.

And you know I had to use a rose and some pedals. I love flowers!!

Another one of her favorites. She really likes the high contrast and loss of detail.
Untill next time…
Another non photography related post. Sorry but I have yet to attain permission to share any recent sessions. But as soon as I do, I promise I will share.
So instead I will share with you another one of my new favorite things. Sometimes I like to buy a product just to see if it does what it says it can do. So I bought the new DoubleExtend Mascara by L’OREAL. The package says:
80% Visibly longer lashes
Long wearing
Smudge proof
Flake proof
Clump free
No need for make up remover, smudge free removal, only warm water needed for removal.
It all sounds so wonderful. Too good to be true.
So does it do what it says it can? Why yes in fact it does. Longer lashes, no racoon eyes, no flakes on the cheek, washes off clean with warm water. I slept in it and still woke up with full mascara and no smudges. Great stuff!!
This is going to be a short non-photography related post. Let me first say that this is not a product review blog. There are just some things in my life that I love and I want to share what and why. Today that thing would be my phone. I love it because it doubles as an MP3 player. And as I clean house I put on the head phones (in one ear so I can hear anything else going on in the house at the same time) and sing and dance around the house all day. It’s a good thing the only person around to witness this is my 2 yr. old. The reason I choose the phone over a radio is because on the radio you can’t hear a mix like this…
I actually sat in front of the camera. Let me tell you about my experience. But first I must say thank you to my dear friend Mrs. C. She did an awesome job. It’s not easy to take a picture of a photographer. Especially one who doesn’t like to have a camrea aimed at them.
First I will share with you some the pictures I took of her. She is a natural in front of the camera. If she was at all nervous I couldn’t tell. We started with a formal dress and went from there.

Isn’t she beautiful?!!? I love when she models for me. Well here goes nothing. It’s showtime. Yes I am stalling. Ok…here goes…

I love the last 2. But my face is mostly hidden. I only posted the first one because I feel I needed to post at least one that shows my face. But I’m used to hideing behind my camera. I did a few on the floor with the rose pedals like we did Mrs. C, but I’m still not sure how I feel about them. Maybe I’ll post one later. She made me laugh, and actually got the shot. And that almost never happens. So maybe I should post one of those just because. Eh I’ll think about it.
